About The Wine Fan

Hello, I’m Michael. also known as The.Winefan on social media. I am passionate about wine and sharing my love for wine. There is a story of how I became interested in wine, nearly 30 years ago but we’ll save that for another day. What is important is that I am not a wine snob; my number one rule is “if you like it then it’s a good wine”.

I meet many people who wish they liked and enjoyed wine more but are unsure and worry it is snobby and expensive. My events remove those fears, I make enjoying wine easy and fun, and I share my passion, whether it’s a tailored event for your business, a private experience or for friends and family at my scheduled events.

I had the great pleasure of having a wine tasting as a birthday present from my amazing Mum – she knew I’d have hated a party! We had the most fantastic evening with Michael’s great presentation skills, and in-depth knowledge of the wines’ origins, characteristics and vinification. Michael’s passion for wine really shone through, and he made it a really enjoyable experience – not at all like a teacher in a classroom! The atmosphere on the evening was both relaxed and engaging. It was the perfect way to celebrate, and to create some wonderful memories. Oh and a hangover!! Yes, tastings are generous! I must mention too that the friendliness of Michael’s lovely partner added to the occasion with her friendly manner, and the delicious ‘nibbles’ she provided to pair with the wines.
